Admission Process
At Zia Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, we are dedicated to making your admission process as smooth, fast, and stress-free as possible. Patients may be admitted either through our Outpatient Department (OPD) or directly via our Emergency Department, depending on their medical needs. Here’s a step-by-step guide to our admission process:
Admission from Emergency
- In emergency situations, patients are assessed by our Emergency Department team and promptly admitted to the appropriate ward or critical care unit.
- Upon arrival at our Emergency Department, a rapid evaluation is conducted to prioritize your care based on the severity of your condition.
Diagnostic Procedures (if applicable)
Depending on the patient’s condition, the emergency medical team may perform necessary diagnostic investigations, such as:
- Blood Tests
- X-rays
- CT Scans
- ECG or Echocardiogram
- Other specialized procedures
Welcome to Your Room
- Once admission formalities are complete, our staff will escort you to your assigned room.
- A healthcare professional will orient you to the room facilities and explain the basics of your treatment plan.
Required Documents
Please bring the following documents at the time of admission:
- National ID Card (NID)
- Doctor’s Prescription (if available)
- Passport (for foreign nationals)
- Employee ID Card (for corporate admissions)
- A list of current medications (if applicable)
- Any advance directives (if applicable)
- Personal comfort items (optional)
Admission Desk
- Our Admission Desk is open 24/7 to assist you.
- Kindly provide accurate information to ensure smooth registration and record-keeping.
Billing and Payment
- Initial Deposit: An initial deposit is mandatory upon admission, based on the type of room and expected length of stay.
- Payment Methods: We accept payments through cash.
- Billing Updates: Interim bills and final bills can be collected from the IPD Billing Section on the Ground Floor.
Checking Out Time
- Standard Check-Out Time: 12:00 Noon.
(If discharge is after 12:00 noon, an additional day’s room rent will be automatically charged.)
Retaining Bed
- If a patient is transferred to the Critical Care Unit (CCU/ICU), the original room can be retained for an additional fee.
- Charges will include both the critical care bed cost and the regular room rent.
Bed Transfer
If a patient is transferred to a higher-category bed/room during treatment:
- Charges for the higher category will apply from the time of transfer.
- If the stay in the higher-category room exceeds 3 hours, full-day charges will be applicable.
OT (Operation Theatre) Booking
- A prepayment is required to confirm and schedule surgical operations.
