Inpatient Guide

Welcome to Zia Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute. We are committed to providing you with excellent medical care, comfort, and support throughout your hospital stay.

This guide will help you understand the important information you need as an inpatient.

Admission Process

  • Patients can be admitted either through the Outpatient Department (OPD) or directly from the Emergency Department based on their medical condition.
  • Necessary financial arrangements must be completed during the admission process.

Room Facilities

  • Rooms are assigned based on availability and patient needs.
  • Each room is equipped with essential facilities, including a patient bed, nurse call system, television (if applicable), attached bathroom, and necessary medical equipment.
  • Nursing staff will familiarize you with room facilities upon admission.

Meals and Nutrition

  • Patients will receive meals prepared under the supervision of our clinical dietitians.
  • Special diets will be arranged for patients as per doctor’s advice.
  • Outside food is discouraged to maintain proper dietary care and hygiene.

Personal Belongings

  • Please keep valuables such as jewelry, cash, and important documents at home.
  • The hospital will not be responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.

Patient Safety

  • Always keep the nurse call bell within reach and use it if assistance is needed.
  • Avoid getting out of bed without assistance if you are feeling unwell.
  • Comply with fall prevention measures advised by hospital staff.

Discharge Process

  • Your doctor will determine when you are medically fit for discharge.
  • The discharge formalities, including bill settlement, will be coordinated through the Billing Department.
  • Final bills must be cleared before leaving the hospital premises.

Billing and Payment

  • Interim bills can be requested from the IPD Billing Section.
  • All final bills must be settled through cash, debit, or credit card payments.
  • (Cheques are not accepted.)
