Discharge Planning
- Your doctor will decide when you are medically fit to be discharged.
- The medical team will inform you and your family about the discharge date and necessary post-discharge instructions.
- Please start preparing for discharge early in the day to avoid unnecessary delays.
Discharge Approval
- The doctor will issue a discharge order after evaluating your clinical condition.
- Nursing staff will prepare your discharge summary, final instructions, and prescribed medications.
Settling Hospital Bills
- Once the discharge order is issued, the final hospital bill will be prepared.
- Please settle all outstanding bills before leaving the hospital.
- Payments can be made by cash or credit/debit card at the Billing Counter.
- (Cheques are not accepted.)
Collecting Discharge Documents
Patients or their attendants will receive:
- Discharge Summary
- Prescription for medications
- Follow-up instructions
- Investigation reports (if available)
Medication Instructions
- Please ensure you understand the medications prescribed before leaving the hospital.
- Clarify any doubts with the attending nurse, doctor, or pharmacist regarding dosage and timings.
Transportation Arrangements
- Patients are responsible for arranging transportation for discharge.
- If required, assistance can be requested from the hospital staff.
Post-Discharge Follow-up
- Follow-up appointments will be scheduled as per your doctor’s advice.
- It is important to attend follow-up visits for continued recovery and monitoring.
Discharge Timing
- Standard discharge time is before 12:00 noon.
- If the discharge process extends beyond 12:00 noon, an additional day’s room rent will be applicable.
Important Reminders
- Check the room thoroughly before leaving to ensure you have all personal belongings.
- Return any borrowed hospital equipment, if applicable.
Keep your discharge summary and reports safe for future reference.

- In case of any medical emergency after discharge, please visit our Emergency Department (available 24/7).
